Aim for the top!
Well guys, anything from a slow walk to doing the housework can give you a basic level of fitness. Everyone has to start somewhere. If you are prepared to work, you can build up to more challenging activities. However you must do it in stages. Here are a few tips on how you can raise your level of fitnesss:
Stage 1
Enjoy an active lifestyle
A 10-minute walk or 20 minutes of housework will do the trick, to start with. By taking part in 30 minutes of exercise at least three times a week, you increase your chances of living longer and improving your quality of life.
Stage 2
Do aerobic workouts
Exercise is now part of your life so why not build regular workouts into your daily routine. At E-Gymonline.com I have put together a program of six 30 minute classes of continuous rhythmic activity. By challenging your cardiovascular system, you will begin to actively fight the effects of ageing and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Stage 3
Start strength training
Remember guys; we are building up to this level. You can add weight training to your workouts that gives you the benefits you cannot actually get with aerobic exercise, alone. You can protect and build lean, muscle mass, you can promote healthier, stronger bones by weight training and it also raises your body’s metabolism, so you actually burn fat faster, even while your resting. You could use a couple tins of beans or even bags of potatoes, you don’t actually need dumbbells. You can always use a rubber band, a ball or even your own body weight to tone. Stage 4
Stretch to increase flexibility
This is a MUST guys, that you stretch after you have worked out. Some people may say at the beginning and at the end, but I advise you stretch at the end. I believe your muscles will stretch more effectively when they are warm. A bit like play doh, if you stretch play doh when it is cold, it is not very effective, but if you stretch when it is warm, you will get a better stretch. Please remember to stretch properly.
At E-Gym we have developed a programme of stretching exercises to keep your body active. Ten minutes is all it takes, a couple of times a day. For people who sit at a desk all day, this program is perfect!!
Stage 5
Complete your peak performance
Have a goal in your mind, maybe to complete a 5k jog. If you have a goal you will feel fantastic, when you achieve it.
